So my problem is a little complicated on a modified laptop

dell precision m7710
i7-6920hq
8gb
4k 40pin edp 60hz rgb

and the problem gtx 1070 (msi odd shaped edition)

so far i got it to work, but doesn't work with intel drivers installed and only a few apps will use the gtx 1070 (cinebench, msi komobuster) haven't tried much games. So i need a way to get optimus to work all the time, i tried messing with the inf support but most of the sections doesn't install, i use %NVIDIA_DEV.1BA1.06DA.1028% = Section001, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1BA1&SUBSYS_06DA1028

also editing my default string doesn't work either

=1BA1 = gtx 1070
=06DA = precision m7710
=1028 =dell
i've section testing pretty much all of them, some of the have optimus support but so far only section 001 works. Not even my laptop original (section 252) work, also it doesn't have optimus support but actually does have switchable graphics even with my hd 8950m(m6100)

I don't understand your final problem, but I know the difficulty of explaining that situation. I need to know if you are using an external monitor, if your NVIDIA control panel shows options like display, not just the 3D settings tab.

Assuming you are using an external display, you will need to find out what ports are connected to your gpu, and which ones to your integrated graphics. This is found on the NVIDIA control panel. If all of the ports connect to integrated, you configure things under your integrated graphics software to customize

Hey thanks for the reply but I fixed the issue had to delete all the drivers (intel and nvidia)and reconfigure the section 007 in nvidia inf and went and get Intel latest driver (hd 530) from their site (not dell provided). And now everything works perfect to internal 4k LCD and optimus handles all GPU intense stuff while Intel boots and regular windows stuff
