How to move Modem upstairs?

Hi I was wondering how you would/could move a modem upstairs! WiFi is to much of a hassle for gaming! So I was wondering how I could move my modem in my room (Or at least put a router in my room) (Please no suggestions about drilling holes in walls, I would much rather stick to WiFi then.)

To move the modem on a permanent bases would require drilling holes as the technician would have to install a new internet access point.

Your only other option is to run Cat5 cable 'neatly as best you can' along the wall.

Sorry, might not be your only other option, there is EoP (Ethernet over Power) but wont be as good as Cat5 though and latency will vary depending on your house wiring, albeit might be alright.

What type of service is it? Cable, DSL, fiber?
Are you personally allowed to drill holes in the wall, or run cabling wherever?

I believe Charter Spectrum is Fiber, and no I cannot drill holes in the wall

Depending on the house wiring, much better than WiFi. Unless you WiFi within the same room.
