[SOLVED] How to move old drives to new PC build

I am currently upgrading my build to a ryzen 3600 and gtx1660s on a msi b450 mortar max motherboard from an old and dusty i5 4570 and r9 270 which has served me for 6 years.

I was thinking of also getting an m.2 ssd to boot my windows to. My current build has a 120gb ssd (boot) and a 1tb storage drive.

My question is how would i move them to my new build. How would you transfer the os to the m.2? and would i need to back up my 1tb (storage) drive or would i just plug it into my new motherboard and will be ready to go?
Also i want to wipe my 120gb ssd so that i can use it as an additional storage drive for games, but will i need to backup the os on it or will it not be needed?

Sorry im a bit of a noob with this and im not sure if i asked this in the right place but any help will be awesome!

Also the reason i chose the gtx1660s is because of the 125tdp which wont exceed my 500w power supply, but im thinking do i have enough power spare to power a more powerful gpu without upgrading the psu?

Going from an i5-4570 to a Ryzen 3600, you do NOT move the actual OS. No matter what drive it lives on.
The new system needs...requires...its own fresh OS install.

so after i do clean os install on the NVMe drive, will i have to do any formatting on the old ssd to make it usable as storage drive?

Later, you reconnect the old drive, and delete ALL partitions.
The easiest way is the commandline function diskpart and the clean command.

thanks for the help mate! for my 1tb storage hdd can i just plug the sata cables into the new motherboard and it will be ready to use? as i do not want to redownload all of my files.

Depending on what they are, yes.

Applications installed on that, no.
Steam/Origin games, yes, after a bit of configuration.
All personal files and stuff you downloaded, yes.
