I have a Lenovo desktop with Win 7 Home 64 bit. Windows was pre-loaded and it installed when first booted. I do not have any disk media for windows.

I have my first SSD (Samsung 840 EVO 240gb) and want to move the OS from the HDD to the SSD. Fresh install if thats best.

I have read many insightful posts here about this process but I haven't found any that address my specific concern (or it was explained in other detail and I couldnt make the logic leap):
How do I move my OS from the HDD to the SSD when I do not have any media. I DO have the activation code. Will a Windows repair disk cover it?

The HDD has been imaged and I have two back ups.

I used to be big into pc builds way back when but haven't had my hands in a case since the glory days of XP.
I know enough to realize I am the weakest link.
Thanks for your help and thanks for all the available advice.

A clean install on the new SSD is the best option.

You can download the official Windows 7 ISO here. Burn it to a DVD, and install

Remove all other drives before you do the install. Have only the SSD and DVD drives connected.

Download the relevant ISO. Then, with whatever DVD burning application you use, create a bootable disk. "Burn ISO image" or similar wording.
