So I have a 500 GB ssd and a 1tb HDD and I really just want to keep my os and games on my ssd. How would I do that? I have like 3 steam games 1 uplay and minecraft. What would I need to do to transfer all other files?

Solution
Well...your initial:
"How to move things from SSD to HDD"

How, depends on What.
Applications can't be moved.
Uninstall from where they are, and reinstall on the drive of your choice.

Doc/Music/Video...the Libraries folders.
That is in the above tutorial.

Steam games.
The ones you currently have on the SSD, leave them there.
For future games, the above linked steps to tell Steam to use other drives and folders works.

For some random file....copy from where it is, and paste to some new folder. On the same drive or a different drive.
Then delete the original.

This is a new SSD?
And you want the OS (and everything else) on the SSD?

??????
That is a guaranteed way to completely hose up a system.
Some things you can do that...doing that with a lot of other things is a complete non-starter.

Since you give no conditions here, just "drag and drop"...I stongly implore anyone reading this to ignore.
Completely.

What, exactly, do you want on the SSD, and what on the HDD??

He said "Keep his OS and Games on the SSD..." which implies they are already there... and move other stuff to the HDD... dragging and dropping from a folder on ssd to hdd will copy from one drive to the other... nothing dangerous about that at all....

You may be correct.

But there are thousands of other people who may read this in the future.
With little context other than 'just drag and drop', and not a lot of direct info from the OP....some future user may hose up his system.
'other stuff' = what 'other stuff', specifically?

There are several way to do this manually or automatically. But first let's find out exactly what we're talking about.

by new I just bought it. Everything is on it and my hdd is also new but nothing is on it.

If i could do that why are there such advanced tutorials on youtube that list 50 different steps?

On my ssd I just want to keep the OS and my games, everything else can go to hdd. Everything currently is on my ssd tho. Just to also note I have formatted my hdd I just dont know how to transfer things to it.

For redirecting things to go to the HDD, see this:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

For Steam games location, this:

In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

I have everything on my ssd which includes OS, games, apps like steam and uplay, downloads, etc.

Two things

1) By target folder you mean I just need to create a folder with the same file name on hdd, to transfer it from the ssd?
2)What if I dont want to move the whole program files x86?

1. Target folder can be called anything you like. What part are you referring to here?
2. You do NOT want to move the whole "Program Files". Not sure where you got that from.

Im sorry Im new to all of this can you give me step by step on what you mean in that thread. Pick any random file on a pc just explain the procedure.
