How to move Windows 7 Data Drive to New HDD

Hello All,

I am being searching for an answers, most seems to assume that you start with a system drive and would like to move it to a new drive.

In my case
(1) My Windows System drive C: is a SSD
(2) Using the unattended install.xml, I have created my programdata ,user home directory and etc in a normal harddisk D:

However, I have been bumping against the max space on the D: drive and now have a new 3 TB normal HDD to move to.

(3) I intend to make the new 3TB drive as the new D: drive and move the old HDD off the computer.
(4) How do I migrate the D: drive and everything on it, ie programdata, user and so on to the new drive?

I been reading and copying does not seems to be sufficient to make the new drive the D: drive.

BTW, nothing is happening to C: system drive where the OS is installed.

If I understand you correctly, you simply want to clone D: to, let's say F: and then remove D:
After doing that, I would simply go to Computer Management and change the volume to D:
In fact, after a re-boot, Win7 may automatically assign the volume D: to that drive.

Yes, you're right... that's what I want to do. Thanks, your note about cloning lead me to more articles about clonezilla and it being able to resize the partition in the migration. Now to check if MBR 1.5 TB to GPT 3 TB is allowed with Clonezilla
