How to mute dvd and play youtube audio

Hello i might have to explain myself, i exercise everyday and i use my pc dvd player, my problem is i wanna listen to music off of youtube but once i put the dvd in all audio goes to that, I CANT EVEN MUTE IT WHEN I PUT THE VOLUME ALL THE WAY DOWN, ive been looking everywhere but no help so i came to the best place, Thank you guys

if u are using windows 7 u can see the volume option in right corner below just click the volume icon and click mixer and make sure the dvd player is running just reduce the volume of dvd player that seen on the mixer or mute it 😀 the same thing can be done in windows xp

It does not work, i have been trying that dvd audio still keeps going but it mutes youtube as soon as i enter dvd

like i said go to mizer click on the computer icon and click advacne tab untick the both
