How To Mute Players in Overwatch

Overwatch has a built in voice chat, so that any match you get into you are automatically thrown into the chat with your team. This is a great feature for coordinating with your team and relaying information, like if you are playing someone like Genji and going in to decimate their back lines, it might be a good idea to let your team know so they can follow you. That said, I think everyone ends up with the mouth-breather who leaves their mic open at some point or other, so how do you mute them? It's not as intuitive as I thought it would be, I had to go looking, so let me show you how.

Step 1)Access the social menu.
By default, this is done by hitting the 'o' key on the keyboard.

Step 2)Find the players you want to mute.
This social menu should list all of the players in your current match, you'll need to find the one you want to mute. Whenever they open their mic their name is going to show in the top left of your screen.

Step 3)Click on the mic icon beside their name.
Clicking on this will toggle it to muted, and that's it! You can now enjoy your game in silence.
