I have 2 win 7 computers in the same room connected to the same router (TP-Link Archer 7, lan ports 1&2). I can't seem to get them on the same network. Any ideas? At the very least, I'd like to share a printer and scanner, but that doesn't seem to work either. When I display the network map, both computers show both computers on the map(s).

Solution
Try this: Run the command "ipconfig" on all the devices through cmd.exe (Command Prompt). If the IP Addresses all use the same subnet (eg 192.168.1.x, the x being whatever) then they're on the same network. If one of them is using 192.168.2.x or .0.x, then they're not all on the same network.

The question would be why they aren't if they aren't on the same network.

I have a 3rd computer connected wirelessly to the network and a member of a homegroup with computer #2. When I try to get #1 to join that homegroup (using the same name) it cannot find or 'see' #2. Network sharing says that they are on separate networks. If I try to change the name(s) of the networks they simply revert to the original.
