how to open/extract .catalyst files?

i tried googling but no luck, any idea how can i open or extract the files in a .catalyst file?

what are you attempting to do? You have chipset drivers they offer which does not contain the catalyst control center(CCC.EXE) which hogs down the cpu

no no, that's not that at all

i have a game that have few data files with a setup .exe
the data files, their extension is .catalyst
i want to open them manually and extract the files myself,

drag and drop the .catalyst into a notepad.exe document. Data will start to show.
What we are looking for is the header. many times when a program is compressed and has other files in it then the header will show files compressed and how it was compressed with what tool it uses like gzip or something. The header is usually the first 3 to 15 lines at the top of the notepad.exe document.

Majority of the file will look like junk data.
