How to open pdf file in windows 7

I cannot open pdf files or adobe reader. Can anyone help? Thanks much, Dennis

Hi Dennis, and Welcome to Tom's Hardware!

To read a .pdf file, you need an application that will read it.

You can download the free Adobe Reader 10 from their web site to use. Here is the link to that site

There are other .pdf readers available, both free and commercial, including the Standard Adobe Acrobat, which has lots of additional features.

Hello Dennis,

Although Adobe Acrobat Reader is the commonly used PDF reader. It is not longer the best one IMO, neither it is the most efficient one when it comes to resource utilization. I dumped it many years ago and I haven't bothered with it since then.

Anyway, after trying few I settled for Fox It, it is smallish, pretty damn fast and does all what I need to do, so I would suggestion you to have a look at it as well. Regards
