How to Overclock a Moto G4 Plus ??

I just want to try overclocking my phone, which is a Moto G4 plus, but I do not what to start with. Someone told me I must root my phone to be able to Overclock it, but I'm doubtful. What should I do? Is there any software that I can use to do this?

Ill start off by saying that its a really bad idea to overclock smartphones as they already without being overclock heat up alot. You can very easy end up with a burnt out cpu, battery or both. However its your phone and your choice so this is how you do it:

Then download setCPU app off google play and change it from that.

Thanks. This phone actually heats a bit too much so i would better not. Although it has a new processor, its built on old 28 nm Technology which makes it heat and it's Clock speeds are not even that High. It has 8 Low power Cores, 4 clocked at 1.2 Ghz and the rest four, 1.5 GHz. :/
