Hello i have a variation of the dell inspiron 530. My computer had a intel i2 quad q6600, 2gb of ram, for the video card a ati radeon HD2400 pro 128mb s-video card, and for the motherboard a Dell G33M02 RY007 micro-atx motherboard Intel g33 ICH9 chipset. I am upgrading to http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4yNQgs soon im just waiting for some price drops. But my actual question is how do i overclock my current old parts to maximize the preformance of my computer since both me and you know it sucks.

It's unlikely that your motherboard's BIOS will have any features unlocked that will allow for tuning. Dell usually keeps that stuff locked out.

Nor would it be safe, as Dell uses the bare minimum spec'd motherboards and PSUs to handle a CPU at stock. The HD 2400 will have a little headroom, but the card is too old and weak so it's not going to make a difference. I'm sorry.

Here's a link for the generic Foxconn mobo overclocking, but as mentioned Dell make have locked it. If the BIOS menu options aren't there then there's nothing you can do.

Foxconn G33M-S

You can search "Foxconn G33M-S overclock" for more info but it doesn't look like there are many options. It's a typical low cost board.

Make sure you clean your heat sink and fans well before you try any overclocking on anything that old. You could probably toast it rather quickly.
