hi
I just bought the Asus ROG GL752VW-T4130T. I wanted to ask if it can run faster then 2.59 GHz?Reading the description it say 3.5 GHz for the Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ.
Also if it now running at 3.5 GHz , out of the box so to speak?. I´m developing apps and it takes a minute or two to Build sometimes and it's really annoying.
Another question is can the GPU power be used for applications?

Happy for help

/Erik

Well, i can only suggest using the bios for overclocking.

Why your computer is only running under 3GHz, is because its not running under full load. The CPU is designed to downclock it self, so it's aint that hot all the time :)

Are you driving around in the RV, or just in your parents driveway or something third?

thanks but how do I see what max clock frequents the laptop is set to use, 2.59 GHz or 3.5 GHz?
I live and work in Sweden and since there are no available apartment im forced to live in an RV.
Is there some app for win10 like this deprecated app:
http://addgadgets.com/all_cpu_meter/

Thanks so it's default speed 2. 6
Isn't there some asus software that let me go to extreme speed with a button click, I have this stationary pc that has the asus turboV ASUS AI Suite . Must check that out if it's working on this lap win10

Got this answer from a shop but it's still not feel good since when i look an Task Manager (win10), I see max cpu speed 2.59 GHz

The clock frequency is controlled by the function Turbo Boost is a feature in select Intel Core processors is not something that you can control. But this is a completely automatic function that is activated when more power is needed, and a number of other criteria are met; These can include be: The current temperature of the processor, the computer is connected to AC power (laptop) and the load on the computer in general.

You can read more about the function and the current processor here:

Intel turbo Boost will bring all cores up to 3.1ghz. from what i read, Only 1 core will run up to 3.5ghz.
If you stress test your CPU it will drop the CPU speed down to around 2.7ghz with thermal throttling.
Its hard for most laptops to run max turbo speed under max load due to thermal dynamics. The good news is most games for example wouldnt bring the cpu utilization to 100% and have yet to find an app that use 100% (highest is 45% in world of warships)

Although task manager states max cpu is 2.59ghz, when running moderate or extensive apps will show around 3.1Ghz (read up intel turbo boost 2.0 for our 6700model cpu)
