How to overclock gtx 770

Hey all, I would like to learn how to overclock my gpu. the gtx 770 I have now is a reference mode with 2GB. It runs and 80 degrees right now when I use unigine heaven benchmark at ultra 1920x1080 and i would love to get some more performance out of it. i know you need some software like msi afterburner but i don't know if i need the card to be made by the same company as the software, heck I don't even know who built the reference card since it came with a pc i brought before. what temps are safe and how far can I push it.

I, personally, wouldn't want to stray much above 80C for the comfort of the card. MSI Afterburner works with most graphics cards, not just MSI branded ones.

Overclocking reference cards can be a risky business, and I'm not sure you'd see any meaningful improvements before it started thermal throttling.

I would use evga precision x, it works with all reference nvidia cards ive used, but like bpt said, I wouldn't go above 80 on a gpu or cpu.
