HP deliberately locks their motherboards to prevent this. Hey, they have to warranty the crap they sell... they don't want you nuking it. Build it yourself next time.
thx and how about overclocking a old dell d333 or i think a dell (4500) or a (4550) its the one that has the 1.8 ghz and 80g hdd and 256 ram.... i thank you very much you for your help
one more thing does anyone know anything about homebrewing xbox.... i need too know how to put the dashboard with "XBOXHDM" program almost any dashboard will work for me..... thx ....... PEACE.....
Again, Dell locks the BIOS options for overclocking on their basic systems... if you buy one of their XPS rigs I think you have that option... but you're paying them dearly for that level of system.
The performance gain you will get by overclocking a cheap pre-built pc is not even worth the hassle, and this is if you get lucky enough to unlock the Bios. Next time you are shopping for a PC, build your own like the rodney suggested =)
