I use a PNY Verto Geforce FX 5900. WIN98SE. Latest beta nvidia driver.

Using nVidia options, or Rivatuner, or Powerstrip I cannot overclock. The settings are not available or show "n/a". The approved drivers on PNY website and the ones on nVidia website all do the same thing.

How do I overclock?

Check out guru3d.com, there is a new release of RivaTuner that supports the latest drivers (52.16).

I've changed drivers numerous times recently with the various 50 series ones that were available. I noticed that some of them had the "clock speed" setting in the video card control panel, while some didn't.

Also, I've noticed that RivaTuner will only allow 'software level' overclocking, the 'hardware level' one doesn't work....at least for me...
