How to overclock zotac 1060 3gb single fan

Solution
That CPU may limit you to any gains in FPS when actually gaming so not sure the OC is really worth it. Don't expect too much from that GPU anyway.

If you wanna give it a run though: Download MSI afterburner (for OC'ing) and Furmark (for testing). Run Furmark first, at 1080p preset & see what FPS and max temp it shows.

Now fire up afterburner. First thing I recommend is to configure a custom fan curve. Maybe fans at 25% up until 50c then 50% at 60c then 75% at 68c or so then 100% at 80c.

Now ramp your Power limit to max, clock to +150 and memory to +500. I have yet to see these settings crash a 1060. Then run 1080p test in Furmark. This will prob gain you around 10FPS. If your temps stay under 70c you're in great shape.

So your GPU will probably heat quite easily due to its lack of cooling options. So there isn't much overclocking range for you there. If you want, you could install the ASUS GPU Tweak II app from the Asus website, and use the pre-set overclock option there as it is just a mild overclock and shouldn't damage your GPU. I wouldn't recommend much high numbers for the GPU boost but if you have decent cooling options for your CPU (Good fans like liquid cooled) you could give a little boost to it.

The applications I reccomend are:
For stable and safe overclocking (Automatically set OC numbers): Asus GPU Tweak 2
To manually overclock yourself: Msi Afterburner

Also check overclock stability with apps like Prime95 and 3DMark.

The real test comes when gaming; if its all stable. If all seems well you can continue to try pushing the core clock higher by 5-10 at a time but gains will likely be minimal.

Prime95 is a CPU stress testing tool, not GPU....
