Hi, I've bought a new hdd for my pc, it's a Western Digital Bleu 6TB SATA 6 Go/s. My computer is fairly old but since my motherboard (P6X58D Premium) can support 6gb/s, I tought I was ok. But I didn't know about the limitation of 2TB for the Bios. I know that if I partion my HDD into 2TB partions, I will be ok, but my computer can't see my hdd. I was wondering if there is a software or something that can help me, or if I need to get my HDD to a friend and partition it on his pc?

Thanks a lot!

Should just work with a single 6TB partition, provided you aren't trying to boot from it. You're supposed to right click on it and initialize the disk as GPT... but if Disk Management can't see it, that's kind of hard to do.

Does the disk spin up on power-on? You can feel for that by just leaving a hand on the disk casing.
