How to permanently get rid of "Are you sure you want to run this software?" message?

I have a program that is set to run at startup on my computer and I get this same message every time I start up no matter what I try to do to get rid of it. The message says:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Open File - Security Warning

The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?
(Then it has a box I can choose to un-tick saying) Always ask before opening this file

(Then there is a little red shield with an X at bottom left of the window and to the right of it is all this writing) This file does not have a valid signature that verifies its publisher. You should only run software from publishers you trust. (The last sentence is in blue text with a link to a useless windows help and support page) How Can I decide what software to run?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have tried everything to get rid of it. Unticking the box (But it never seems to remember I did that the next time I boot up), setting to always run as administrator, setting the shortcut to run as administrator, giving it full rights in security settings but nothing works. It might be worth noting that I have my computer set to never notify me when programs try to make changes or anything like that but I tried temporarily enabling that and then unticking the box but it still doesn't remember the next time I boot up.

It's not the end of the world if I can't get rid of this message. It would just be nice if I didn't have to deal with pop-ups every time I start up the computer.

This may help: http://twigstechtips.blogspot.co.uk/2009/08/windows-7-disable-file-security-warning.html

If that's not relevant to your problem, it may be you need to set "User Account Control" on your account to it's lowest setting:
Control Panel > User Accounts
From the list in the main panel, click "Change User Account Control settings"
Drag the slider to the bottom (Never notify)
Click 'OK'

Be aware of the risks involved when you lower the protection level.
You'll be fine however if you have an intelligent third-party firewall installed which incorporates application control.

Solution
I think its the User Account Control Settings that windows have. Go to Control Panel>System and Security and under the Action Center click at Change User Account Control settings and set it to never notify, click ok and restart.

oh Phillip was faster... :|

in your search pane, type "msconfig" (no quotes), enter - note that you must have administrator privileges to do this. Under the "General" tab, check the "Selective Startup" and "Load Startup Items" boxes. Select the "Startup" tab, there you will have a list of programs that start when windows loads. Simply uncheck the undesired program (if you don't need it running all the time)

Thanks for the replies but neither of those solutions will work. I already have my computer set to never notify. I can't disable it in msconfig either because I need it running always. And I can't use the advice from the link because that's for opening files, not programs but it did give me the idea that maybe I can get rid of the message by messing with the registry but I wouldn't know where to look.

It turns out that fix that you posted in a link works for programs as well as files. I just tried it and it worked. Sorry I doubted you for a second. Thanks a million. 😀
