How to play counter strike source through IP address?

Hey Guys,
My friends and I live far away. So we can't obviously over LAN. But I have heard u can play through IP address or using IP address. Please could someone tell me how and thanks in advance

you can add online server ip's to your game like this

you can get online serves on www.game-monitor.com and www.gametracker.com
