How to play videos on windows media player with toshiba laptop

i have a toshiba laptop with windows XP but i was recently deleting things from my control panel and now when i put a dvd in the tray it reads it and the windows media player comes up and it will play the sound of the dvd but it wont show video for it, what did i do and how do i fix this? please help me..

Look in recycle bin to see if you can restore what you deleted.

or Windows restore to date prior to your misdeed.
