How to power all my system fans?

Sorry if this is a basic question, but i haven't been able to find a clear answer. I am building a water cooling set up. I have 1 case fan and 12 120mm fans as part of radiator setup. What additional parts do i need to power all of these fans and then ultimately control them?

are fan controllers. They connect to the power supply and permit you to connect multiple fans to them in turn. A few fans can be controlled from the motherboard's fan headers as well.

As a matter of curiosity, what setup do you have with 12 fans?

You can use a pwm fan hub (if they are 4 pin fans). You can find them on amazon or newegg for fairly cheap.

Both the fan controllers and the pwm fan hubs limit the number of fans to it looks like less than 8. How do i link all 12 fans? Just use a splitter?

I am using corsair air series SP120 fans. I believe these are non-PWM. Does this change the thinking?

If you use a fan controller than it does not matter because you will be controlling the fans with the controller and not with software on your computer. This would mean that you would need to buy a fan controller though and not just a fan hub.

Thanks. Got it. For 12 fans would the best route be to get the fan controller and six splitters? The splitters are $5-6 each. Not an astronomical cost, but any way to cut down the cost?

Look for splitters that will connect 3 or 4 fans to drop the cost.
