How to print lightly

I want to print a barely seen document where in I can trace the printed words/borders with my handwriting.

Do I need to download a font? Change my font color to gray?

You could print and set the color to 5% gray.

If you are printing and drawing on white paper, you could also print normally on a white sheet of paper and simply put it under the sheet you will be drawing on. Using a backlighted table may help with tracing that out.

Most printers also have a Draft option. Very light printing, just too see what it might look like in full.
