where do I find the old drivers to delete? I found on the internet two places to check, one in add/remove programs, and the other under device manager. On the programs i see the nvidia drivers i downloaded, nothing else really except like 8 different microsoft visual C++ files, which im not sure what that is. but under display adapters in device management there is a decent sized list that appears under drivers details. just wondering the best way for updating drivers.

dont worry about removing old drivers, its more likely that as the drivers are updated, they overwrite the old versions.

anything you download, IE Nvidia drivers, this is just the installer for the drivers and unless you need to reinstall an Nvidia device, you can remove the download.

Dont uninstall anything from add/remove programs unless you know what your are removing, if you uninstall your wireless card drivers or lan drivers, you may find you cant access the internet, which you will need if you want to reinstall them again.

the visual c++ files are usually part of games or apps that need them, again, leave them alone, they are there for a reason

definitely dont remove anything from device manager, everything is there for a...

definitely dont remove anything from device manager, everything is there for a reason, because it is part of your computer, uninstalling drivers for USB3, even though you might not have a usb3 device, will cause the actual USB port to stop working... windows has these things there for a reason, leave them alone.

the best way to keep drivers updated, is let windows update do it for you, it does a very good job and unless theres a major reason to not use the drivers it recommends, your best sticking with it

This is one of the better ways to remove graphics drivers, if you're having problem with your current driver that is.

The very best method to 100% avoid any issues is by removing GPU drivers manually

^ The manual way is 100% the savest way.

thanks i saw a few conflicting things on the web, figure i come here to find out, ill just leave em be

the only drivers i installed were the ones on the cd from the mobo. i was watching videos suggesting that i download them from the manufacturer. other than the gpu driver i downloaded from nvidia that is the only one that i downloaded manually. everything works fine though
