i just bought a nice quality lenovo keyboard but it doesn't have UV coating on them which my previous cheap 5$ keyboard had and lasted for 9 years until a rodent chewed the wire. is there a way to protect the key caps? because i don't want to change the key board or key caps every year or so.

is it possible to apply UV or something else on them?

i'm talking about a glossy coating that is over the printed letters of keys. which prevent the keys from wearing off, so they last long. not all keyboards have it.
