How to re-enable AMD A10-5800K APU graphics?

Hi all

I have been using an NVIDIA gtx 560 ti GPU instead of my APU's graphics. Now I intend to use my APU's graphics instead. I have already downloaded Catalyst drivers but when I plug my monitor into the motherboard dvi, my monitor won't display anything even after restarting with it plugged in.

Any ideas how to fix this? I have a feeling it's in the mobo bios somewhere.

Check in your BIOS to see if there is a setting to choose between displays, usually there is PCI, PEG and IGFX or IGPU, you will want IGFX, or set it to Auto.

If you can't find it could you give me your motherboards name? I can find it for you

Alright I will try looking in the bios again. I couldn't find an option like that the first time. Do you think simply removing the GPU would solve the problem?

It could possibly but your BIOS might be set to only display from PCI.. So your monitor won't display anything. If your motherboard has a North bridge area check there.

Also, try shutting your PC down and before turning it back on plug your display cable into the motherboard and turn it back on.. Not sure if that will work at all but it's worth a shot.

Alright I'll give that a shot. I did find a graphics configuration option in the bios but i couldn't select it. My motherboard is an MSI fm2-a85XA-G65.

Okay easy. When you boot into your BIOS are you presented with a clickable (UEFI) bios screen? If so click on the large MSI Mainboard Settings button to the left and go to Advanced, then go to Integrated Graphics Configuration. You will see Initiate Graphics Adapter, change it to IGFX, IGPU or even Auto (Something along those lines).

In your UEFI BIOS go to advanced options then i think its called the NB bridge and there is an option to force integrated graphics

I've found the solution!

I couldn't get into the Integrated Graphics Configuration menu with the GPU installed (the option is not highlighted) so I tried uninstalling all NVIDIA drivers and installing AMD catalyst, then disconnecting the GPU from the mobo altogether. Only after removing the GPU was the Integrated Graphics Configuration menu in the bios selectable. I set it to auto it was then able to boot and detect the APU graphics.

I'm not really sure why I couldn't get into the Integrated Graphics Configuration menu in the bios with the 560 ti hooked up though. I guess simply removing the GPU would solve the issue without cracking my brain finding a solution.
