Hi, I am needing help with my Lenovo G555 laptop. For awhile now, I haven't been able to use my computer because whenever I turn it on it's just a black screen and it says CHECK CABLE CONNECTION! and NO BOOTABLE DEVICE-INSERT BOOT DISK AND PRESS ANY KEY. I went to the lenovo website an downloaded a reboot system nd burned it on a disk so I could put it in my laptop and fix it. But all it did was check the memory of my computer and not reboot it.

If someone could please help me out with this, that would be great!!!

First, reboot is not what you are trying to do. Reboot is just turning off the computer and turning it back on.

What you downloaded sounds like a hardware check utility which Lenovo also offers, need to read exactly what you download.

Check the drive as above.

The laptop may have come with recovery software, but usually with new systems you have to make the disks yourself as the restore files for Windows is on the hard-drive. The big "read this first" pages you probably tossed out in the first 10 seconds of opening the box would have had info on doing that. Usually with bit red letters that said "IMPORTANT". If you did not make any restore disks and they laptop is under warranty, they will send you a replacement hard-drive. If it's not in warranty you may need to buy a new hard-drive and order a set of restore DVDs for your computer.
