how to reboot from linux to usb?

currently the only operating system on my computer is debian, when I start up my computer it goes to the grub loader. the only option is for the system. I want to boot to a usb, how does one go about this on a Linux system?

Same as with Windows, do it from your BIOS screen.

this would always be the same regardless of the installed OS... You do those settings in your BIOS/UEFI
plug in the USB, go into your BIOS/UEFI -> boot menu and select the USB device

press F10 during boot and select usb stick on boot menu
