How to reclaim RAM from disabled APU?

I've recently upgraded my GPU and all of my monitors are running off it, so I'm left with my AMD A10-7850K APU which isn't doing any graphics processing but is still claiming 1GB of system memory as VRAM (control panel says 6.94GB of the 8GB is usable). This seems like a huge waste but I can't find how to reclaim it. CCC recognises the APU graphics as disabled.

Look in the BIOS for a setting controlling "Shared Memory".
