Ok so I purchased a number of 1-4 TB external hard drives made by GDrive and LaCie from a sale. When I plug them in they do not appear as an accessible drive with a letter, say D: . With a little help from youtube though I do see the drives under disc management on my computer. It shows that the drives have 3 partitions , 2 being small and one being very large. The small partition looks to have the original LaCie and or GDrive software under it and I would like to keep that on there just like it came new. The only way I see that I am able to use the drive and assign it a drive letter is to format the entire drive and it seems to make it into one large partition and of course delete the factory software. Is there any way to assign this drive without formatting the entire drive? Thanks in advance

Solution
If you can find the drive in Disc Manager, you should be able to highlight the drive and partition and after right clicking on it, you will see the option to change the drive letter.
