I have accidently formated my external hardrive and due to my panic I have canceled the process of formating now I can't open the hardrive when I have tried to open it shows do you want to format this drive how to recover the data in it there is about 600 gb of data in it it is my very important pictures and videos and I have chosen data rescue pc4 is it is a better option or can anyone suggest me anything good I need all the data in it please Help I am going to be in a trouble...................

He is half way through the format process, he cant recover without having something to scan.

How exactly is he supposed to recover anything in that current state.

Auto-format (and not full format) will not erase any data, all it does is marks the file space avaliable to be overwritten.
Thus using a software like Recuva after formating will find the files and allow them to be recovered (may have to use deep scan mode though).

to recover as much information as pssible you don't destroy more form what you have, that is extremely stupid

firts recover whatever you can, then you decide what to do, keep unformated to remember why yyou must not format a external hard disk, format, whatever you wish, but first leave unchanged the media you wilsh to use as a recovery target

first recover, later if possible rebuild or start from clean, but first recover, always recover first, i can't stress this enough ,first recover files, always first

As stated he is not destroying any data doing an auto-format as the file itself is still there.

That is a lot of generic informaton lacking any real solution.
So what program/procedure does the OP need to use that can recover data on an unmountable, half-formated drive then???
