How to reinstall windows on surface without a login???

Hi,
My dad gave me his old surface which he received from work. I want to i install a regular version of windows because with this i am not an a admin and are not able to do anything such as run an exe for t he first time to install and application. The current account setup on the surface is no longer able to be logged into because my dad got a new surface and had his domain account registered to the new surface. So i cannot log in to restore the surface to a different edition of windows or just a new installation. How can i put a new installation of windows on the surface. I have copies of windows 8 and have a desktop pc. Oh and the surface is just a surface 1. Thanks for helping!

Before you do anything though, get confirmation from your father's company that the device is indeed his to keep and not just company property that he can use while employed with the company. Different companies have different computer policies, and failure to adhere to the policy can be a reason for contract termination. In simple words, ask the company before doing anything or else your father might get fired for it.

yeah i just found that you can do this. Oh and yes my father owns the company so thats why he can give it to me. Thanks!
