I want to remap a standard usb numpad to be able to assign macro's to it, but i don't want to affect mapping of my regular keyboard.

You could remap it with event ghost, but it will remap your number pad as well on your main keyboard. You could get fancy with evenghost and filter by device.hid, and find the hid of the number pad. Being USB it will have it's own hid, so it would be possible to only target the usb keypad I guess. Evenghost is free, but does have a bit of a learning curve.

got the eventhost, but you are absolutely right about the learning curve. do you think its cheaper to buy a macro keypad than look for someone to do this for me?

I would absolutely love to do it! Which plugin would you use for the basic USB Numpad?
also, will i need to learn Python?

I would greatly appreciate any and all help, and most importantly your time. It would be very interesting to actually tackle this, much more than just buy a macro pad.
I looked through the keyboard plugin, but wasn't able to get the EG to recognize the pad as a separate HID device.

THANK YOU!
