Hi, My first boot option is "Bootable add-in cards" , I have no idea what it means (maybe something to do with non existant Dual Boot set up) and I would like to remove it from my XP set up, any suggestions, thanks, Roy

Not 100% sure what you're asking, but maybe something like EasyBCD will work for you, it allows you to play with the boot options, not sure if it will work with XP, you'll have to check it out. I think it's free. Maybe not though, haven't played with it in a while.

Thanks for your reply, reason for my post is because my PC will not boot up. the first option in the Bios is Hard Disk Boot Priority, pressing Enter and Bootable Add In Cards appears, I can change the boot sequence after that but the master 0 and slave 0 show as NONE in the Detecting Drive window.
As I'm not sure of the reason for the ADD In Card and I can't change it I wondered what it's purpose is, thanks Roy

You can google that one, there are several, but really once the drive starts not showing up in the bios, it's done. There are places that can recover the data, they replace the failed parts of the drive, but it's expensive, well, the expense ranges depending on what's wrong and how hard it is for them to recover the data.

Then you started out asking the wong question LOL, heppens a lot on here.

Your real question should have been about your boot issue. If the BIOS can't see the drive, try reseating the connections, try a new drive cable to the motherboard, and test the drive in another computer. As a seconadary one, don't try to boot another system from it.
