How to remove data from a Seagate external hard drive

Hello,
My Seagate external hard drive has just quit. How can I get the data from it?

Open the case and remove the drive. You'll notice it's just an ordinary hard drive. Connect it to your computer as a spare data drive and copy files you want out.
