2. I don't think you can. That list is probably read from the Registry and/or the location where those things are kept.

you can delete it from the registry which will remove it from the list. though why would you want to? what are you trying to hide?

often i do things for "no good reason" as well. tinkering with a pc for me is often not "do i need to?" but rather "can i make it happen?"

so i can imagine valid reasons to try to do it, however, i find it hard to believe others have the same "valid" reasons to try it that i dream up

I do as well.
But, when a person asks for something weird like this..."Why?" is the default first comment.

If it were just for my playing around and investigation, and I was at a stopping point...I'd probably give a list of things I had actually tried and failed with.
Instead of just "How do I do this weird thing?"
