How to remove Memory card is write protected from the monitor?

I am unable to remove the words "Memory card is write protected" from my Coolpix S220 digital camera. Could anyone help guide me as to how to do this?

There should be a slide switch that can be moved to the other position to make it writable. If not and you have the issue with other memory cards, then the camera is defective.
