I would like to know how to totally remove Microsoft Edge from windows 10. I already tried several methods found on the internet that suggest using CMD and Power Shell, but none have actually worked.
If you don't know the answer then I would appreciate it if you don't comment at all. I don't want to be asked why or be told that removing it could cause problems with the OS.

Thank you

Whether or not you want to hear it the truth is that you don't remove it. It is an integral part of the Windows OS. Just remove all shortcuts from the desktop and menu and be done with it.

And a caution. You do not get to set conditions upon the members of these forums. Everyone is free to offer their opinions.

The issue is, so far as I know, that Edge is baked into so many of the default processes that it cannot be deleted in a standard way and will cause other issues if forced. Hide the shortcut, set default to your favorite browser and pretend it isn't there.

If you are swapping for Chrome I am being judgemental, lol.

I appreciate where you think you are coming from attempting to set some restrictions (as it were) on how you get answers on a forum. If you were HALF as smart as you think you are saying something like that, you never would have HAD to have asked how because you would already be cognizant of the issues that come along with messing with base Windows system operation. Not at all meant as an insult to you, but apparently you have completely missed one of the key factors in how forums work.

It is with your best interests in mind that we would warn you. Whether you heed that advice or not is up to you.

Since OP is that insistent on removing a component of the OS, I'll provide at least two solutions, none of which I can vouch actually works:
Keep in mind however that you're likely not going to get any warm reception if you come back complaining there's a problem with your Windows install.

Really the only solution here is to not use Windows.

It's gone, my little brother was able to totally remove it along with "microsoft edge runtime webview2" He also added something to the registry to keep it from being reinstalled during a windows update. That was back on the day that I posted this thread and windows updated a couple times since then and it still has not returned.
I would have posted photos to prove it, but for some strange reason they don't allow you simply upload a photo here.
