I recently purchased 1TB Bufallo external hard disk. The hard disk comes with factory software called "DriveNavi" which includes encrypting your hard disk with password. I would like to remove this feature as I am unable to use the hard disk on other systems (Mac, TV etc.). I can use the hard disk on Windows PCs by entering my password. However, due to above reason, I want to disable this feature. I checked the program in the hard disk, which does not provide option for disabling the password feature.

Kindly help

Then if the software does not provide the option you have two choices, either wipe the drive (format it) which should do it, or contact Buffalo's TECH SUPPORT number included for assistance.

This is hardware level encryption housed on the bridge board similar to what WD does on its external drives. You'll need to contact Buffalo Support for instructions on resetting it to not require a password.

Be careful, though, because this is the equivalent to a secure erase, so there's no way to recover your data after this.
