Basically, just grab the black surround and pull. It should come out.

You may need to wiggle it side-to-side.

There shouldn't be any latches or anything.

Yes it was moved but only a little. And then nothing

There's nothing special about that connector, it just pulls straight off. Do NOT however pull it by the wires.
