How to remove vPro from PC?

I'm new at this, so bear with me. I would like to know how do I go about removing vPro from a PC I just got. I have a Dell Optiplex 780 SFF E8400.

on intel motherboards you can disable it in the bios by disabling intel amt. if you dont have an intel motherboard you should contact your motherboards manufacturer for instructions on how to disable vpro on their boards.

Okay, if I disable it in the bios. Is there any way to guarantee that it will stay off?

If there isn't any guarantee that it's off, how can I just remove it?

nope it will stay disabled.as far as ive been able research it,it cannot be removed as it is hardware imbedded.

That's what I want to know. What hardware would I need to replace to have it completely removed?

you would need to find a motherboard that both supports your cpu and does not support (have) vpro.personally i would just disable it and leave it. disabled it isnt going to make any difference to either the security or performance of your computer.

I spoke to an Intel engineer in regards to this and he confirmed that replacing the motherboard with one that doesn't have vPro embedded is the only way to remove vPro. That's the resolution to my question because I asked how to remove and NOT disable it.

From your response, I can that your feelings got hurt but this has nothing to do about your ego.

It does have everything to do about giving out correct information. The question was never answered and yet your answer was awarded "Best Solution". That's not right and very misleading; the question should've stayed open until someone had the correct answer. This incident just leads me to believe some of the complaints about this forum and how it's being administrated.

i already told you that to completely get rid of it you would need to replace the motherboard.as to my feelings,no,you didnt hurt them.im curious tho as to how much of a difference the motherboard made over simply disabling vpro.dont worry man,i have pretty thick skin.cheers.and,by the way,i did give your the correct answer.actually both correct answers.i not only told you how to disable it but also gave the alternative of replacing the motherboard.maybe a remedial reading class should be in your future.on another note i would say that this site is being administrated just fine.as to complaints,well any asshole can say what they like.doesnt make it so.
