How to repair hard disk cyclic redundancy error

Hello,
when i am playing certain movie files from my hard disk, the film is getting stuck at various places with a message-'could not read file'. clearly its not a faulty player. and when i try to copy certain files from hard disk, cyclic redundancy error is happening. please help as this is hard disk is just 6months old.

If the drive is of seagate make run sea tools for dosv2.26 in basic test select long test this tests each sectors & reallocates sectors after data is retrived with out an loss of data.
