how to replace laptop cpu

i have a COMPAQ Presario-112nr. i was looking to replace the CPU and any service cost way to much. i was wondering what CPU's are compatible with my system and how to replace the CPU.

Changing the CPU probably won't give you the benefit that you are hoping for. Looking at the spec of that model laptop, if it is still standard you would be much better replacing the 5400pm 160gb drive in there. If you replace the HDD with an SSD the performance gain would be massive, especially from a 5400rpm model. Also I think that machine only comes with 2GB RAM as standard. An upgrade to 4GB would likely see a measurable performance gain also. These things can be done relatively cheaply and don't involve major laptop surgery.

I agree with Poprin here. I would buy an 8gb ddr3 kit for your laptop and then get an SSD. It will feel like a whole new machine.

what ssd would you would work in this..idk if there are differant kinds dont know much about hds

The Crucial M500 240gb is a nice SSD for the money.
