■ I recently bought a *motherboard and CPU* that was already overclocked to 5.0ghz (i5-7600k) and since I don’t have a top-of the line cooling system (I only have a thermaltake fan) I am afraid that my CPU may overheat. I’d just like to know how to undervolt/reset it back to stock settings.

Solution
you bought a CPU or a computer that was overclocked? A CPU by itself doesn't hold settings for overclocking, the motherboard controls it. If you want to reset to stock settings, enter the bios and change the CPU settings. If you can tell us the motherboard model we can help you on how to configure it.

The overclock settings are in the BIOS, not the CPU. If you've never overclocked with your motherboard, then the CPU in it will be set at it's stock settings.
