Hello, I have a new PC and would like to give my old laptop to my mom, the problem is I do not know how to reset it. I don't remember having any reset CD, and even if I had it at one point, I don't anymore. The laptop is a Sony VAIO VPCEH3K1E, I've had it for about 1 and a half year and it's already in pretty bad shape. The reason I want it back the way it was when I first boot it (I bought it in store) is because I used it way differently than my mom would. (I used it for gaming while she uses it more to surf on the web) I have a CD of windows 7, but already used they key, I don't know if it's helpful, but at this point, anything is fine.
If I need to buy anything, please give me a rough estimation of how much it'll cost.

Thank you for reading, and I'm looking forward to your help.

Do you know if there is a restore partition installed? Most OEM configurations come with a partition specifically for restoring the factory configuration.

If it does have one, you can use the following guide to restore it to factory settings. If it does not, you will need to purchase a new copy of windows. We cannot help you to circumvent the licensing guidelines by using the license key already in use on another unit.

If the laptop has a license key that is independent of the one being used elsewhere, that came with the installation disk, then it would be permissible to either use the key printed on the license key label affixed to the laptop, or retrieve the key from the system using a utility and installing with an ISO image...
