Hi, i recently bought a 1 tb external HD and i was told had to be reformated to FAT 32 instead of NTFS like it was. I have windows xp software on my computer so to be able to change the external HD to FAT32 i had to delete the old partition. When i did that i lost half the storage space on my external HD. I thought by reformating it back to NTFS it would fix it but it didn't. So i want to know if i can restote the lost space on my external HD. Please help.

Thanks in advance,
Mhrh

As you have found out, you can't create a fat32 partition bigger than 32GB with windows. Delete the partition and recreate it and format it using fat32formatter. It worked perfect for me.

Fat32 can create partitions up to 2Tb, so it will work. Since formatting is destructive, be sure to back up any data on that drive first.

Using fat32formatter, delete all partitions and create a new one that is the full size of the drive, then format.
