How to restore system to factory

Hello,
I bought a computer that was the display model. Office max told me they completely removed themselves from the computer however they did not. I am unable to use certain programs such as Window Media Center because it says I am not the administrator....but I AM! I have changed all that. I still get the office max screen saver coming up too... Help what to do. I can only go back to and earlier date and I would like to do a complete system restore. This is what office Max suggests.

What model? Usually you can hit F8 when you see the HP BIOS splash screen and there's an option in the boot menu to restore it back to the factory settings.

I've done that and I have been all over this system restore stuff but it won't let me go back further than 6 months. I'm thinking to get rid of this office max junk I have to go back further. When I try to create a restore point I never see where it puts that. It says it creates it successfully but then where does it go? hmmm baffled!
