How to retrieve deleted cd/dvd drive in windows xp

Hello,
i have by mistake deleted the cd/dvd drive from my laptop.i don't even have any installation cds.how can i retrieve it?

Go to the device manager. Look to see if your CD/DVD drive is listed in there. If yes, right click and uninstall it. Then go up to 'my computer,' right click on it and scan for new hardware.
