How to revert back to Windows 7 from Windows 10 Technical Preview (8.1) Without losing any of my files?

Hi,

I'm using Windows 10 Technical Preview (Based on 8.1 for the build). And i'd like to go back to windows 7 Ultimate.

Are there ways to revert back to Windows 7 without losing my files like My downloads and stuff?
Obviously I can't keep everything since the system files and stuff are from a different OS of windows, but please help thanks.

When upgrading OS's there are provisions by Microsoft to transfer files. There is not one for downgrading that I have ever heard of. You just have to backup what you want to keep that you can transfer once you install windows 7 over 10.

If Win10 is the only thing on it no. You'll have to copy what you want (downloads / docs to a flash drive or something) except programs and do a clean install

You can copy the install files and you will have to reinstall in Windows 7 but you can't back up the installed and move top a new OS.
